Peace Sense Poem

Under Threat At Gallipoli
Under Threat At Gallipoli
It’s 4:44 am on the 25th of April 1915. Me and my friend Ali are both on the landing boat. We were
sent here to help Russia. They desperately needed more weapons to fight off the Germans and we were going to help them. We are under the cover of darkness. The moon had dipped behind the clouds. I’m shaking nervously all over. I feel there is a bucket of poison in my stomach. I don’t know what’s coming next.
All of a sudden the steam boat in front of us let off a massive spark of light giving away our position. Then I realised we were under threat at Gallipoli. Gun shot’s flew everywhere. I picked up my gun like it was my only hope. It doesn't work Ali tried to fix it. He says “Try the trigger!” I fire “BOOM!” His lifeless body falls to the floor with great force. He is crying for mercy. I don’t want to look at what had just happened. I realised that this is it! This is the end.

Ukulele
We have been learning to play the Ukulele with Mrs Talijaard.
Peace One Day
As part of our Inquiry work on Peaceful Communities we have been learning about World Peace Day on September 21st. On Friday 19th September we held a Taster Shared Lunch with Rooms 19 and 22. We had to bring in a small sample of a food that we might eat at home as a family favourite or a food from our culture. This helps us to learn about each other’s cultures and about tolerance of others.

Noah's Speech About" Why we need uniforms?"
Introduction
Did you know uniforms make students easily identified? Hi my name is Noah and today I will be persuading you why we need to wear uniforms and how they will help us on School trips with Bullying and also with our own neatness.
Paragraph 1
We need uniforms for safety reasons. If there was no uniforms then some students might come in clothes that might distract their learning and play time. The clothes that others bring could be clothes that aren't made for going outside and playing or sitting down for a long time and if someone was to bring a dress they could trip and fall and hurt themself very badly.
The uniforms are good because they help teachers decide who is a student at that school and who is a stranger. A stranger would take advantage of a boy or girl and try to take them away but the teachers can easily decide who is a school citizen and who is a stranger that doesn't go to that school. So this is a very important reason for why we should wear school uniforms.
Paragraph 2
If someone doesn’t wear their uniform there could be consequences involved in the situation. For example, if a student disobeys the school rule of wearing the correct uniform to school, they could gain a detention, be stood down or suspended if it is a continuous breach of the school rule. Another breach of the school law is not wearing the uniform correctly for example, if a student has been warned to come to school in the right socks after he or she has been told lots of times that he or she needs the correct socks then they could be punished by being stood down or suspended. If he or she has been warned more than once and refuses to come to school in the right uniform.
Paragraph 3
Another good reason for why we need uniforms is without them, people could be bullied badly because of their choice of style. If a student disagrees with another person’s choice of style they would tease, mock and make fun of the choice that the victim and could even threaten them to wear something different. Basically, they could change their personality for the worse. If the victim does not report this to the teachers because of fear that the bully would hurt them mentally or even physically then will continue and could spread to the other students and they might think this is a good thing but really, its not. Will uniforms, none of this can happen.
Paragraph 4
Educators and experts believe that school uniforms believe that uniforms contribute positively to students' behavior.They believe that when the students are wearing uniforms the feel more professional and behave accordingly.Educators believe that the students become distracted from fashion trends and status symbol clothing. So when the students are wearing their uniforms they come more focused on learning than they are on what they going to wear the next day. School uniforms make mornings easier for parents and the child because both the parent and child know what they have to wear to their school and work.
Conclusion
All around the world schools are switching to uniforms because of all the good they do and the uniforms might seem bad but they aren't. Uniforms are designed for all the things that you do in a day like sport, running around or sitting down for a long time and work uniforms like the firefighters uniform is made for the firefighters to stand intense heats so they can put the fire out.
Now that is the end of my speech and I hope that I have persuaded you to wear uniforms and think of uniforms in a positive way.

My Healthy Eating Pyramid

Michael Morpurgo Novel
This is my favorite Michael Morpurgo novel that I read. This book made me think about the story and all the characters that were in it and also what their purpose was. Also it made me think about why they were in the story. I really enjoyed this story. I gave it a 9/10.
